Directions:
To create the box, cut two pieces of card stock to 8” x 8”. Working with the
piece of paper that will make the lid, at each corner, cut a line from the
corner diagonally 1”.
Fold the edges of the paper inward using a bone folder to create creases.
Fold the ends of the box sides and nip the corners.
Adhere the two ends of each side together. Tack the box flap corners to the
sides. Use clothes pins to hold corners down while drying.
Repeat with the second piece of paper to make the bottom of the box. The
initial corner cuts should be about 1 1/16” long.
Cut a piece of coordinating paper to 1” x 6” and punch along one edge with
an eyelet punch. Adhere to the box lid.
Color the mermaid image and neatly trim out.
Cut a double mat for the mermaid image and adhere the three layers. Attach
the matted mermaid to the center of the box lid. Embellish with flowers,
adding a dot of pearl paint to the centers.
