Day 31: 31 Days of Halloween

Yeah!!! We made it! I hope everyone had a fun time this month. It was such a challenge just getting a post up, there was no way I had time to visit all the posts every day but I will be checking things out over the next month.

Today's final project is another domino. Using the stamp from yesterday's card I pulled the cat and pumpkin to create this hanging gem.

Here is my tree - it is a prototype, I found in the backyard and it has a great blowing in the wind look to it, but it is a bit heavy on that side too so it tends to fall over if I overload it. I have plans on making one next year with floral wire, maybe some little led lights and tape..

Isn't that skull cool? There is a place that sells glass skull candle holders and they are great but at $80 each, definitely out of my price range. But I will spend forty with it filled with vodka, rofl. Crystal Head vodka is yummy, has a bit of a vanilla taste to it - worth it with that awesome bottle. There is a tequila out there that comes in a decorated skull, would love to have some of those too. But I will be happy with a couple more of these until then. Bottoms UP!!!

Day 30: 31 Days of Halloween

Ten years ago today, about 4:30 in the morning, I woke up peeing the bed! It took me about a minute, after frantically jumping up and running to the bathroom (all the while wondering why I couldn't make it stop) to realize my water had broke. It is so hard to believe that my oldest, who came into the world weighing a tad over 5 pounds, has grown so much! Of course, I am flabbergasted as to where those ten years have gone...

I thought for today's share I would show her birthday card, the image is titled Weena, from Joanne Schempp.

Have a great day!! Thanks for stopping by!

Day 29: 31 Days of Halloween

Today I have another Rebecca Sinz image to share - just a quick tag, don't know where the time is getting to but this morning all I have been doing is searching for our truck key (yes, we only have one). Or course if DH had put it on the rack where it belonged instead of giving it to me to lose, we wouldn't have this problem. If you ever need anything lost - bring it to me, I guarantee within 5 minutes it will be gone forever ;-).

Day 28: 31 Days of Halloween

Today's share is a quick ATC - I had the image colored Friday, but Saturday just got away from me with all the running around and stuff I had to do. Anyway, the image is from Sweet Pea Stamps (check out the great sale they are having over in the sidebar!), she is by Rebecca Sinz (isn't that a great name?) and is called Silken Threads.

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 27: 31 Days of Halloween

Oh NO!!! Not those again! Yes, but not really, you see Sharon asked yesterday if my girls were still helping create ornaments for our tree and since I hadn't anything ready to post today, I thought I would share what my littlest one created.

While I was working on my three, she was hard at work right along side me. These are her versions of the three images.

Slightly the same with just a bit of different sprinkled in. Of course I haven't had time to add the hangers just yet. Now, if I can just find a good stick for the tree itself. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 26: 31 Days of Halloween

This is the final of the three dom images from Red Lead Paperworks - they have a lot of awesome vintage images. Most are ATC and Domino size. Just thinking about their offerings is making me want to go buy something, sigh...but I am grounded. Da hubby decided I can't shop for my trinkets and he isn't going to buy any of his. All I can shop for is food and gas. (Luckily I had just ordered a pad of G45 paper the day before.)

Anyway, the roll is in the sidebar - have a great weekend!

Day 25: 31 Days of Halloween

Here is the next image of three Red Lead domino stamps - this is such a neat set!

Don't forget the blog roll is over there on the right hand side! thanks for stopping by!

Day 24: 31 Days of Halloween

Today's post was touch and go. When I awoke yesterday morning everything was fine...with the phone that is. But having stayed up much of the night with a bunch of sick people I laid back down once my youngest got on the bus. Well, when I got back up I found the internet down. Turns out that the guys laying new phone lines cut a cable that serviced 300 phones in the area - including mine. Luckily, as you can tell they finally put humpty back together again.

My next domino is from a cool set I just received from Red Lead Paperworks - their stamps are awesome, albeit a bit spendy. But I wait until they offer a free gift with purchase to break down and get something. This is the first image from the set of three. It was stamped with black stazon, colored with bic markers and a really thin layer of crystal effects tops it off. I was going to go with resin but found it needs to be 70 degrees to work best - it is really never that warm in my house (except maybe July/August).

Now Donna mentioned trying to find some dominoes to work on - I found a box at Walmart in the toy department and they are less than $5 for a box. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 23: 31 Days of Halloween

Well, I have decided you will be tortured for many of the remaining days with visions of dominoes. My plan is to create a Halloween Tree decorated with all the goodies I and my two minions create. This the next decoration - it is an awesome Spider Web flourish, I smudged the metallic gel sticks on the domino for the color.

Thanks for stopping by, the links are over in the sidebar for the hop!

Day 22: 31 Days of Halloween

Today I called on the backup team to help out. While I was playing with the dominoes they wanted to join in the fun and this is what they ended up with. To begin wit we colored our dominoes with Faber-Castell metallic colored gel sticks, then smudged it around with the fingertip. Stamped the images, added some bling and then coated with Crystal Lacquer. Now I love Crystal Lacquer and Diamond Glaze but for some reason it never really seems to dry completely for me. I have ornaments I made a year or two ago that, even now, if you press your finger nail into it a dent remains. So I guess I will start using resin for these types of projects...

Yesterday, there was a question whether the eyes glowed in the dark - that would look so cool but I didn't have anything on hand to give it the effect but in the future I will have to find something.

Thanks for all the great comments, don't forget to check out the sidebar bar over there ----> for the rest of the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop!

Day 21: 31 Days of Halloween

Today's project is another domino. I am putting a pin on the back so my little one can wear it to school. I stamped the spider from yesterday's ATC three times in black stazon and then colored over with a black bic marker. While it was still damp I took a qtip and smudged the ink around to remove the lines and ended up getting the cool night like background.

Day 20: 31 Days of Halloween

Wow, time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin....can not believe we only have 11 days left! That headache is still hanging on, thought about going to the doctor but the last time I went for something totally unrelated and just mentioned in passing that my head was hurting.  Next thing I know they are telling me to drop my pants for a shot and locking me in a dark room for an hour! Soooo, I decided to give it a little longer, lol.

Today's ATC has stamps from InkyAntics.

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 19: 31 Days of Halloween

Sorry I am so late posting today. I woke up yesterday at 3 in the morning with a headache that nothing can defeat.

So today I just have something super simple to share. The image is Teresa Sherman's Pumpkin Witch.

Isn't she awesome? The blood dripping in the background was cut by hand, just in case you wondered.

BTW, I am just curious, my kids watch this show on netflix called Ruby Gloom - who else loves this show??? Anyway, I wish they would have some new episodes it is so much fun to watch.

Day 17: 31 Days of Halloween

Thanks for stopping by! It is great to read all your comments, there were a couple questions from yesterday I wanted to answer.

First off, yes that was my black fridge in the picture - the main reason why I didn't color my dominoes when stamping them. I wanted them to stand out even more.

Second, how I stamp on small surfaces with smudging - well usually it is hit and miss, sometimes I sand the bad image off and start all over and over and over, lol. Luckily this time I didn't have that problem. But, what I do is lay my stamp image up, ink it and press the domino on top of the stamp. It gives me a lot more control over the ink and helps for making sure I have a clean shot of the area of the stamp I am wanting to transfer.

Now today's share is an Elisabeth Bell image called Little Wispy Willow with Pumpkin. The papers of My Minds Eye and she was colored with copics.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget the path to follow is right over there --->

Day 16: 31 Days of Halloween

Here's another quickie. I decided to make a fridge magnet - what would really be cool is to cover the entire door with these but I will start with just one, lol. Not sure about where the web stamp came from but the spiders and text are a Robin's Nest rubons.

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 15: 31 Days of Halloween

First, I know you have to leave a comment to be in the running for the prizes, but thanks for all the sweetness and support you gave my little. She does a lot better than yesterday's entry...she is in the 2nd grade and actually is in the top three for most of the poster contests they have at school. Sometimes she just gets in this mood and begins whining - you color so much better than I do...(not really but that is something else, lol) she does try though.

Today's project is one that came up unexpectedly. While trying to figure out what my next days post was going to be I stamped the skulls from the Teresa Sherman's Skeletal Candle Holder onto a domino thinking about making it a pendant. My husband just happened to be walking through at the moment and requested that I stamp an entire set of dominoes for him just like this.

Sorry my picture is a bit blurry, I guess I have the shakes this morning.

Hey, today is the last day to apply for the Sweet Pea Stamps design team! These opportunities do not come around very often so if you are on the fence don't dawdle!

Thanks for stopping by!

Day 14: 31 Days of Halloween

I am sorry to say I just haven't had the inclination to make anything yesterday. I started...over and over and over but it just hasn't turned out right. That being said I called in the back up team. This is my little girls take on a Teresa Sherman's Halloweenie.

Hopefully I can get my act together and add something of my own today. Enjoy the rest of the hop today!

Day 13: 31 Days of Halloween

Well, my post was scheduled to magically appear earlier, however, it is the 13th.

This ATC was a quickie, the image is Teresa Sherman's Alad Poor York.

Thanks for stopping by, maybe tomorrow will be better!

Day 12: 31 Days of Halloween

Well I finally finished something before it had to be posted!!! This was fun to create, the image is Teresa Sherman's Cloaked Lady.

The printed paper is DCWV, the ravens were cut from the cover of a stack of paper. Thanks for stopping by!

And thanks to Donna, I am entering this is in the Delicious Doodle mono challenge.

Day 11: 31 Days of Halloween

Well I am a bit late today. Had this pretty much done except I couldn't find anything in my stash to complete it. So I ended using some digi words from the Chillingsworth collection. The stamp is a Teresa Sherman image, Spidey Spider.

Don't forget to check out all the other wonderful stops on the hop ---->

Frantic Stamper Blog Hop Day 3

Today is the final day of a design team hop to help celebrate the launch of Frantic Stamper Precision Dies. You should have arrived here from Lis Whiting's blog and will next head off to Kathy Berger's blog.

Now before I share my creation I just wanted to tell you a few things about these fantastic dies:

    -no measuring needed
-use a small piece of removable tape to hold the die in place
-hundreds of layout possibilities by combining dies
-using the square "punch-outs" to create layered elements, mosaics, etc.
-cut the square "punch-outs" to make easy corners
-don't forget turning the square dies on the bias for neat "diamond" effects
    -great for the "highlight" technique
    -great for making shaker cards
Interesting right? I can tell you my favorite thing to do with these dies is being able to create double mats and frames.
Here are three samples - this first one was created with the 1.25" wide die that is 3 squares along with a 1" square die for the mat, the image Frantic Stamper's Old Rose.

The mat was created with the 1.25" and 1" square dies, the image is Frantic Stampers  Dragonfly Post.

This one was created with the 4 square 1" die on a 4x4 gift tag base, the image is also found at Frantic Stamper.

Fran at Frantic Stamper is offering Blog Candy for this hop; either Set #1 or Set #2 of the square dies, winner's choice! Just go to the Frantic Stamper blog and leave a comment about one of the items you see on the hop to enter the give-away. The winner will be chosen randomly from qualified entries on Thursday morning, and will be notified via the blog sometime that day.
 Thanks for stopping by!

Day 10: 31 Days of Halloween

It's hump day! Yeah!

Today's image is another digi titled Precious Advice. Yes, she doesn't look very scary but it seems it would be a scary thing to have your fortune told, especially around Halloween.

Thanks for stopping by and for all the great comments - it is nice read them, they are usually few and far between.

Frantic Stamper Hop Day 2

Frantic Stamper Precision Dies

This is the 1.25" x 2 column die and a Frantic Stamper image.

Day 9: 31 Days of Halloween

Today I have an ATC to share with you, I am rather uncomfortable with this format. It seems like I am leaving something unfinished by not popping onto a card front and embellishing more. But it is what it is, right?

The image is titled Halloween Trio, but to me it has a Day of the Dead feel to it. It is a digi, something else I am uneasy using. It just seems like you are cheating when all you do is print something out, however, what do you do when you find an awesome image like this and want it so bad? But I do like how this turned out.

Do you like decorating for Dia de los Muertos? Here is a cool tutorial on making some really neat ornaments at Quilting Daily.

Did you know that Sweet Pea Stamps is offering digis now? Not every image is available in the format and there are some that are not offered, such as this one, in rubber but I bet you could find a ton of cool images for all your deep, dark celebrations!

Thanks to Kristina, I am entering this in the PPP DoD Challenge #8.

Day 7: 31 Days of Halloween

Happy Sunday! I don't know about you but I just can't seem to get ahead. I really wanted to have a few days posted at once but can't seem to get my self into gear. Oh well, at least I made some on World Card Making day...and here he is!

Sorry, he isn't that ghoulish or spooky but he looks like he may have seen a few. The image is by Elisabeth Bell called Tuckered Out Tiger and can be found at Sweet Pea Stamps. Thanks for stopping by!

Day 6: 31 Days of Halloween

Velcome, today my card features Teresa Sherman's Little Pumpkin Fairy but I think she is more like a sweet, little ghoul :-).

Check out these fabulous new dies!

Check out the fabulously versatile new dies from FranticStamper at www.franticstamper.com

Day 5: 31 Days of Halloween

I love the show Supernatural, I mean what could be better than ghosts, vampires, demons and all those other scary creatures??? But then it could be that cute actor that plays Sam...mmmm mmm mmm!

Well enough fantasizing, for my card today I am using Teresa Sherman's Goth Guy. When I saw him I  just knew he had to become one of those specters that you see on the show...but then he also kind of reminds me of Anne Rice's character Lestat.

Anyway, I guess I have rambled long enough today, he was colored with copics and I am using the sketch from Smeared and Smudged today - just turned on it's side. Have a great day! Don't forget the blog roll over there --->.

Thursday, October 04, 2012

Day 4: 31 Days of Halloween

Well, here it is...finally. I stamped several images the other night with the hopes of being able to stay on top of things but then life happens and my normally slow, calm day becomes one of chaos. Anyway, here is today's submission:

The image is another of Teresa Sherman titled Skeletal Candle Holder, she has the greatest artwork and I love the chance to use all my new stamps by her this month.

BTW, I just wanted to mention that Sweet Pea Stamps is looking to fill an open spot on their design team. You can find more out on their blog. I hope some of you will take the chance and try out!

Thanks for stopping by! The blog roll is in the sidebar.

Day 3:31 Days of Halloween

Thanks for stopping by, the blog roll is right over there ---->

Day 2: 31 Days of Halloween

Day 2 and I am already behind...I had stamps picked out over a month ago but with all the stuff that is going on (remodeling the house no less) I haven't had the time or energy to do much of anything else. Well enough whining here is my card for the day.

The image is Teresa Sherman's Loves Faded Memory.

It can be found at Sweet Pea Stamps. It was colored with copics and the paper is DCWV's Ghosts and Goblins Stack.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget the hop links are right over there ---->.
