My creation is a 6"x6" card featuring clear translucent microbeads from Pennywise Arts. The stamped image is from Sweet Pea Stamps. The paper is DCWV. The frame is a Spellbinders die cut, as are the flourishes.

To get this look cut a frame, spray with color, such as Glimmer Mist, and attach the beads all over with Diamond Glaze. After it has all dried, use your finger to knock off beads in small areas to give it a distressed look and more texture. Stamp, color and trim out your image and then mat on a 4" x 4" piece of paper. Overlay the frame and attach with foam tape. Attach your framed image onto a 6" x 6" card stock base. Embellish with gimp, ribbons, flowers and flourishes. (The umbrella embellishment was from a cocktail - painted with a 18K gold paint pen). The flourishes have a few of microbeads painted gold.

More Cards and a Blog Hop!

This weekend is the Pennywise Arts first blog hop - there are a lot of participants to visit and some great ideas so mark your calendars!

Isn't Kewpie just precious!?? He is one of the fantastic images produced at Auntie Amy's Rubber Stamps. At first I had no idea what to do with him, I mean how can you do justice with an icon? But I think these cards really came out cute.

If anyone has ever wondered where the name "Outside My Window" came from you can blame the birds - the ones I watch everyday outside my window. There is a beautiful nuthatch, bright yellow finches, downey woodpeckers and the very rare hummingbird (plus many more). This sweet bird image reminded me of the finches I watch and I just loved working with it. It can be found at Auntie Amy's.

Altered Buttons

Well I haven't gotten into the inchie craze but these little babies probably qualify when it comes to size.

 

  

These are buttons I have altered using images from Twisted Vintage Images. Instructions will be posted to my gallery on Twisted Papers soon. Basically, working on a flat top button around 1-2" in diameter, tack a piece of background/text paper, add images and seal with a generous layer of Diamond Glaze, oh and of course a little touch of bling from my favorite tool, the glitter pen - how fun is that? And these have lots of uses, including embellishments, pins and magnets.
