Karen Middleton's Dream Angel

This is another gorgeous new release from Karen Middleton titled Dream Angel.  I wanted to use some pink boa feathers at first but couldn't find any so I took a different route.

The paper is Prima I believe, the heart is a wooden one from Kaisercraft - I covered it with a Viva Pearl pen,, then added some pearls along the side of the background paper. The flowers are Prima too. It has such a regal feel to it I thought a shield from Tattered Angels would be a nice addition also.

Blessed Dreams

Today I would like to share a card created with Karen Middleton's Blessed Dreams. The sketch can be found at Sketches by Carly.
Please excuse how off kilter my image is, I finally broke down and bought a new pc. It came with Adobe Elements and I am not too familiar with it's workings...being lazy I will probably download the free programs I am accustomed to later this week.

Anyway, the papers and flowers are Prima and Core'dinations, the image was colored with Copics, the gemstones are Glitterazzi. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend! Don't forget to visit the SPS store, there are some super awesome stamp specials going on!

Blue Mat Board Scrap5 x 7" (Unknown)
Black Mat Board 8 x 9.75" (Unknown)
Heat Gun (Marvy)
2 Soda Can Pull Tops or Table Top Stand (Unknown)
Directions:
  1. Position six dominoes, blank side up, into a rectangular shape on a flat surface.
  2. Stamp the image with StazOn on the domino surface (centered) and allow to dry.
  3. Heat set image with heat gun.
  4. Color the image with pencils using the blue on the flowers, wings and bubbles.
  5. Using the purple pencil, color over the blue areas lightly allowing both colors to mix.
  6. Color the leaves green.
  7. Position the scrap mat board on a flat surface.
  8. Begin adhering the dominoes, starting with the middle piece, to the scrap mat board with the Omni Stick by placing a few drops on the back of each.
  9. Allow the adhesive to dry.
  10. Working with the foam tape, create a strip about 3" long, layering and adhering six additional strips to it, repeat three more times. (This will add dimension to the frame.)
  11. Attach foam tape to the back of the black mat board at a diagonal.
  12.
  13. Once the matted dominoes have dried, adhere the mat, centering the domino art in the window.
  14. To create a sturdy backing for hanging, cut a piece of foam board slightly smaller than the mat (about 7.75 x 9.5").
  15. Cut a piece of heavy card stock the same dimensions of the foam board and adhere to one side. (This will create a finished look to the back of the wall hanging.)
  16. Adhere the bare side of the foam board to the back of the wall hanging and allow the piece to dry.
  17. If desired, attach to pull tops from aluminum cans to the back of the wall art for hangers, otherwise a small table top stand can be used for displaying.

Frantic Stamper's Lg Rose

Many times, I am guilty of using a stamp one time and then putting it away only to never see it again. However, Frantic Stamper's Lg Rose image is timeless allowing it to be used over and over - not just lost in a sea of rubber. Today I would like to share one of the ways the image could be used.

Cut the yellow card stock to 5.5"" x 8.5" for a  card base, and fold in half.
Cut the floral printed card stock to 4" x 5.25" and ink the edges with cocoa ink and adhere to the front of the card front.
Cut a strip of the yellow card stock to 2" x 4" and ink the edges with cocoa ink.
Cut a strip of the yellow gigham side of the printed card stock to 1.75" x 3.75" and ink the edges with cocoa ink.
Adhere the gingham strip to the yellow strip and attach to the center of the card front.
Adhere the floral trim to the gingham strip.
Punch a 3.25" circle from the yellow card stock.
Punch a 3" circle from the white card stock, attach to the yellow circle, centering.
Attach the matted circle to the card front with foam tape, positioning it off-center and left.
Stamp the rose onto white card stock.
Color the rose using the RV000 on the open areas and RV34 on the shaded areas, then coloring over the flower with R81 and R85. Use the greens for the leaves and stem.
Neatly trim out the rose and adhere to the matted circle, use a small bit of foam tape on the stem.
